endometriosisEndometriosis and FertilAid

Endometriosis is a common cause of female fertility issues, and affects up to 15% of all women of reproductive age. Endometriosis develops when small pieces of tissue from the inner lining of the uterus (called the endometrium) move up through the Fallopian tubes and become implanted in and around the organs located in the abdominal cavity, including the ovaries, Fallopian tubes, rectum and bladder.

In the normal course of a woman's menstrual cycle, the ovaries secrete hormones that stimulate the cells of the endometrium to multiply and thicken. This prepares the uterus for successful implantation of a fertilized egg if conception occurs. If pregnancy does not occur, this excess tissue is excreted from the body through menstrual bleeding.  Just like the endometrial tissue that remains in the uterus, the "rogue" endometrial cells that have made their way to other organs also respond to the hormones secreted by the ovaries, and swell and thicken. However, unlike the endometrial cells in the uterus, these cells are unable to separate from the tissue to which they have adhered, and are, therefore, never removed from the body. Month after month, the cells swell and thicken, which can cause bleeding, scarring, and the growth of fibrous tissue and cysts. The growth of fibrous tissue can obstruct the ovaries and/or obstruct the Fallopian tubes, resulting in infertility.

For some women, all of this occurs without them knowing anything is wrong. But, other women with endometriosis experience a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Extremely painful menstrual cramps
  • Chronic pelvic, abdominal, and/or low back pain
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Premenstrual spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods
  • Painful urination and/or bowel movements during menstrual periods

The exact cause of endometriosis is not yet known, though several theories have been developed. One theory suggests that menstrual blood flows backwards through the Fallopian tubes into the abdominal cavity, carrying with it live endometrial cells, which become implanted in various organs in the abdominal cavity. The lymphatic system (the system responsible for removing excess fluids from the body) may also carry endometrial cells away from the uterus and deposit them in other parts of the body. Because endometriosis has a hormonal component, some experts believe that chronic exposure to xenoestrogens (environmental pollutants that mimic the effects of estrogen) may play a role in the development of endometriosis.  And, it appears that endometriosis runs in families, indicating a genetic component to this condition.

Unfortunately, the ideal treatment for endometriosis is also yet to be determined. Pregnancy is one of the best remedies, as it pauses the normal menstrual cycle for an extended period.  And, endometriosis subsides as soon as menopause is reached. Therefore, the medications that are prescribed for this condition are intended to trick the body into thinking it is either pregnant or menopausal.

Whenever appropriate, women with endometriosis are advised to actually become pregnant, which can be challenging due to the infertility issues caused by endometriosis.  While FertilAid for Women is certainly not intended as a means of treating endometriosis, and trying-to-conceive women who suffer from this condition should communicate with their ObGyn to formulate a strategy for becoming pregnant, a number of trying-to-conceive women with endometriosis have reported favorable results with FertilAid.

2 months on Fertilaid
By Marie on May 14, 2010
Hello everyone! this is my second month on fertilaid, not preggo yet but it has tremendously regulated my cycle and I feel less pain during my menstrual. I have had a laparascopy and lupron treatment two years ago for endometriosis. So far everything looks good, I am sticking to this product until I get pregnant hopefully it won't be too long. I also take Fertile CM and it does, I have notice a big increase in cervical mucus and my libido. I would definitely recommend this product. Crossing my fingers for next month! Good luck to all my fellow woman TTC!

I can't believe it!
By Liz on February 3, 2010
My husband and I have been trying since September of 2006, our wedding day. I have had surgery because I have ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I was put on the lupron shot and after 6 months of that, I didn't think I would ever have kids. It was the worst 6 months of my life. I went through menopause at the age of 22. My husband and I tried everything, from taking my basel temperature for 90 days and charting everything, to 2 weeks of ovulation tests. Nothing, so I went online and looked up ways to help. I found FertilAid for Women. I thought "hey, what can I loose." It said it takes about 3 bottles to work. I ordered one, nothing happened, I ordered the 2nd and half way through it I GOT PREGO'S!!!!!
We are so happy I found FertilAid. It turned my life around!! Thank you!

I finally got my BFP!!!
By Tanica from FL on June 22, 2010
I did not even finish my first bottle. I cannot believe it! I was prepared to buy 1 or 2 more. I started taking it during my menstrual cycle and that was my last one back in April. Its now June 8th and I had my BFP using the Early-Pregnancy-Tests test strips. Faint positive a week before my period was due!!! Dark positive a few days later. My blood HCG levels are progressing very well so far, per my doctor. I'm about 5 weeks!! AND I had endometriosis. I did have laporscopy a few years ago and had 2 kids, but it appeared the endo was coming back. I had a cyst just a couple of months prior. Sooooo I would certainly recomend this product to everyone TTCing!! Baby dust to those waiting on their BFP!! I hope you get urs very soon too! -)
